The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints believes that strong families strengthen our society. That’s why for over 35 years they have promoted family unity by sponsoring “Homefront,” a nationally renowned public service campaign.
The Church believes the family is the fundamental unit of society. An official church document, “The Family: A Proclamation to the World,” reads, “Husband and Wife have a solemn responsibility to love and care for each other and for their children. … Successful marriages and families are established and maintained on principles of faith, prayer, repentance, forgiveness, respect, love compassion, work, and wholesome recreational activities.”
